Who makes the best black wax?
Hey guys, I've heard a lot over the years of " black wax " and how amazing it is, but have never actually seen the results in person, thus never tried it. Recently I heard the term again from a co-worker who was raving about turtle wax's black wax, so I decided to look into it. I see a few options in the store. Mostly ranging from meg's $11.99 black wax, up to black ice for $75.00. I'm looking to use this on my personal vehicles, so the price doesn't really bother me. I'm just after the best.

I like Pinnacle Souverän, but it only last about a month. I normally use Wolfgang deep gloss paint sealant for protection then top it with Pinnacle Souverän. Just remember that you will not get the result you Are looking for if your vehicle is heavely swirled with lots of water spots.

Souveran for dark colors is great. I use Pinnacle Paste Glaz on my Silver Porsche or White BMW. "Black" or "White" waxes are just AIO kinda things. Meguiar's White Wax is a better cleaner and their Black Wax has better polishing abilities

Want your black paint to look its best????? ........... Polish it. Any good wax/sealant/etc will then enhance it.

Re: Who makes the best black wax?
I dont really think there is really a color oriented wax. Technically yes, its black pigment so its suited for black paint but I feel the best way to get a depth and shine out of a car is defect free paint and any quality wax applied after

Just curious, have you used Blackfire Black Ice? I sure wouldn't put it on a white car. That would be like putting black shoe polish on white shoes.
I totally agree with you on the polishing aspects to bring out the shine. But having used over 15-20 different waxes and sealants in the past 4-1/2 years on my car I can say that BBI was one of the top 3 for wetness, depth of shine and reflectivity. And it's like black shoe polish, literally, it smells like Kiwi shoe polish, that's most likely the Montan Wax in it.
