"How long will it last"
Its tough when I'm asked buy a customer "how long will it last ". In this case I'm referring to the durability of optilens. I've never used but will be, can someone help me to answer "so how long will it last ". I'm trying to sound positive. Thanks Steve.

You may have better luck...but I don't
think I could "spin" the below Opti-Lens
product description, for potential customers,
more positive than what's already written.
"Optimum Opti-Lens Headlight Coating is a
resin-based coating designed to protect
headlights against yellowing, fading and
discoloration for the life of the vehicle.
Optimum Opti-Lens Headlight Coating forms a
covalent bond with the headlight and cross-links
to blanket the lens with a durable, protective film.
Headlights coated with Optimum Opti-Lens
Headlight Coating will retain perfect clarity
in any environment - forever!"

Re: "How long will it last"
I tell them after that, it depends on how much sun exposure, wash techniques, upkeep, etc. I always recommend good car care and point out the benefits. I warranty it for a year. Guaranteeing anything after that without definitive testing or backing by the manufacturer, would be a bad idea. Warranty it "forever" and you'll lose money from re-do's, lose a customer from over-promising, and probably get bad reviews. If they have issues after your warranty period, polish off and re-apply at a discounted rate.
Opti-Lens says it's a permanent coating, not permanent protection. Someone else made a post recently, twisting their words and assumed it's the end-all to headlight coatings. If it lasted forever, it'd be a lot more expensive.

Re: "How long will it last"
If car sits outside,24/7, a year tops on yellowed headlights.
Just to give you an idea,
Cars I have done where the lights were sanded/polished and Opti-lens
2004 Forester XT----1 year with hints of yellow
2001 Acura CL----1 year with a little yellow
2004 Toyota Corolla----maybe 6 months.
My 2 1/2 year old Depo aftermarkets were coated right away and still look good but that should be expected.
