Who sprays on wheel cleaner without getting some of it on the brake calipers and rotors? Cmon Bob...

No...you c'mon!
Every wheel cleaner is not created equal.
If you had taken the time to read my previous
posting(s) in this thread, you would have seen
what my processes are when using the Meguiar's
product, (and ones similar to it), that happens to
be the subject matter of this thread.
I don't go about haphazardly spraying car-care
products around wheels, tires, and braking
system components.
That's one thing you can definitely count on!

Maybe it's residual, and can be rubbed off. It seems Meguiars would know better than to place it's consumer in such a predicament.
A rim cleaner that can clean ALL wheels should be safe to spray near and around any undercarriage including the braking system, especially if it's going to be sold to the masses OTC, IMO.

I agree Funx650, if you are using an aggressive cleaner on a surface you need to heed the manufactures recommendations. I'm no Pro but, if you are then not applying to surfaces not recommended should be part of your knowledge base. As an aside the disc will return to normal after applying the brakes, so take a drive and relax.

Re: meguiars meguiars what have you done !...
Taking off rims to clean them with an ALL safe rim cleaner is absurd. Doesn't matter how small the fine print is, nobody is going to expect to have to on an ALL safe rim cleaner, well except for two members here. I'm guessing that's because it was a Maguiar's product, that's why we saw those responses.

I tried to rub it off couple of days ago with my fingers (speaking of being super frustrated and little time to spend) and i noticed that it might come off !..
I will try to clean it next time with water, soap and the infamous speed master wheel brush as it should arrive in no time now !..
I wouldn't remove the wheels and clean them as am living in an apartment and that's is absurd to say the least that's why i bought this 13 bucks bottle claiming to be SAFE on all wheels from a hardware store over here and was planning to read the instructions CAREFULLY (AND I DID) then apply it, I didn't even leave it for more than 30 secs tops and asked the guy to blast it off with water pressure, weird thing is though, while the front disk brakes BOTH got affected very badly, the back car brakes (pure metal I believe) didn't get effected at all as far as i noticed !...

Bob's advice is for helping anyone who is willing to listen to just take precautions until you have proven that a product is compatible with your task. Test in a small scale can prevent large scale mistakes.

Lesson learned never to trust any brand claiming it is SAFE on all wheels, regardless of what brand it is, that's the lesson I learned !...
