Using Only 4 Sides of the 8 Sides of a Towel

The more I detail, the more it is becoming apparent to me that there are situations to only use 4 sides, of the 8 sides on a folded towel.
The main reason being that the oils in your hand, and possible product/products on your hand or glove, can saturate the surface you are working on.
This can result in less than optimum performance, function, and final results with the intended product/products being used.

    Examples:
    - Cleaning Glass.
    - Applying LSP / Exterior
    - Applying LSP / interior.

    Thoughts?

What you say makes sense, oil in your hand if not using nitrile gloves.
Personally always use just 4 sides due to the difference in the nap in microfiber towels (excluding WW),

    •No...For me it's 8 "sides"...

I tend to use all 8.

However, if the towel gets saturated with the solution and a "dry" /clean side is leaving streaks when I'm buffing, I move on.

I do this sometimes. Mostly if I'm not wearing gloves and I get something "icky" on one side of the towel... otherwise I tend to use all 8 sides.

My MF towels have a 'fluffy' side and a 'non-fluffy' side. I only use the fluffy side on the paint, so when those 4 sides get dirty, I switch towels

^^ this. I always wear gloves as the products dry out my skin.

I use shine n buff waterless wash towels for rindless. Super fluffy side on both sides. So yeah I definitely use all 8 sides

Re: Using Only 4 Sides of the 8 Sides of a Towel

I only buy dual pile towels except for my "throw-downs" that I get from that big warehouse membership store owned by the same people that famous blue store with an asterisk in its name. I usually only use those on wheels, jams, and tires during rinse-less washes.
