Some idiot spilled paint. HELP
Long story short i clayed, decontaminated and sealed w wolfgang 3.0 last week. Yesterday i washed and apply Mckee spray on was. I was happy as can be with the outcomes.
So today I'm driving behind a car and out of nowhere he runs what had to be a gallon of white paint. It splashed on on side of my car as I passed. I immediately went hom and tried to wash it all of. I got most if it but i can only guess i may have missed some as my car is also white.
I have a pretty good layer of protection from the sealant and wax but will this paint contaminate my clear coat before it eventually is completely gone.
Do you recommened claying it all over again.
Like i said i did get most of but i can only guess some little specks are here and there

I'd go back with a clay bar, and that should get most, if not all, of what is left. If anything is still left after that use a gentle polish

Should i reaplly sealant and wax? Will the clay remove the layer on there now?

Yes, claying will remove the sealant and wax.

You're best going with the clay first to remove the paint before polish.. Mike Phillips just wrote an article on this, but I don't have it handy...

Re: Some idiot spilled paint. HELP
Thx for replies. I just checked under good light when i had a few more minutes. There is a ton on the very bottom...Door panals are mostly back to stock, few cm streaks here and there. A couple dots on hood and roof. Nothing a soak in rinseless and hard scrub with microfiber shouldnt remove.
The bottom is where a lot has caked. Im pretty scared to even touch it to be honest, i feel like once i remove a bit it will mar the rest. Im talking like the entire length of the bottom two passenger side doors are caked.
I guess my only consolation is that its on the bottom and shouldnt be too noticeable if it does mar a bit.
I just took my nanoscrub fine grade to it and it had minimal impact, the pad turned white though so it obv did a little. Gonna have to go at it tomorrow with a bit mode elbow greas.
I also have wolfgang pre polish enhancer so that should help.
Wish me luck!

Would a quick spray in a diluted alcohol solution soften things up a bit for me or is that a bad idea?

I would wash, quick detail, then if not removed go to clay bar, then if you have it some liquid carnauba wax with a microfiber applicator and try to rub it out. If you exhausted all of those non abrasive options then I would go light polish by hand on anything remaining.
