Question Another Water tank to Pressure Washer thread

    Hi all,

I am glad to become a part to such an awesome library of information. I have been detailing cars for a couple years now and recently decided to increase my customer base and take on more jobs. What is going to set me apart from others in the area is the mobile part of my work. I have obtained a 250 gallon tank and was looking to pair it with my pressure washer for washing cars in parking lots while the customers work. Here are my questions.

Will this pump work for my usage?

I have a consumer pressure washer from lowes, it is a Honda motor capable of 3000 psi and 2.7 gpm

I will have a deep cycle battery to power this pump with alligator clips so I can power it on or off when needed.

Also, could someone point me in the right direction on setting this thing up. I'm not real sure how this thing will work. Will I run a fitting from outside the tank to this pumo, or how should I mount it and what else should I get to make sure the life of this consumer pressure washer will last as long as it can before replacing the pump with a CAT one.

    Thanks in advanced,
    Matt

The pump is a good pump for the pressure washer but it's a 115 volt pump so it should be wired for a standard outlet, I have same pump now you may be able to gravity feed because I have the sam's club black max pressure washer and it seems very similar, to mine. but mine is self priming, I hook up a have duty short hose about five feet, let water flow through pump pull trigger when i get a nice trickle i pull choke ring, then turn on switch then pull rope cord while still having trigger open, once warm push in choke (off) and good pressure builds

I was stressing on setting up this part when I was purchasing equipment.

However, I found out I don't even need a pump I run a 200l water tank hose straight from the tank to the pressure washer, more than enough pressure, even did engine bays etc,

Are you mounting everything in the truck or trailer?

Thanks for all the information thus far. I already had the pressure washer for houses and driveways and I wanted to get one of the better units in hopes of better quality to last longer. I use the delicate tip when washing vehicles with it. I have read that gravity may work, but don't want to cause any premature wear on the unit if it can be prevented with something that is relatively cheap. All of this will be mounted on a trailer because I have employees that will need to take the equipment and do jobs without me at times.

Also, I have a Honda generator so the 115v pump won't be a problem. Ideally a DC pump would be most cost effective, but using .9 gallons of gas every 8-10 hrs won't be a terrible gig.

I found a little cheaper submersible pump that is capable of 1100 gph that is also a 115v pump. I'd just drop it into the tank and plug my water hose to it and plug it up. Anyone have any experience with a submersible pump?
