Foam Cannon Help
I've wanted a foam cannon for awhile so instead of buying a nice one I bought one off of Amazon (link below) to see if I like using a cannon. I put about 3oz of Duragloss 901 in the bottle and shook it up then started on my Audi. It worked okay but it seemed really runny. I then mixed a bottle up with 4oz and it seemed to be better. Is it normal to use this amount of soap or is it just because I bought a cheapo? Any other suggestions? I can return this one if its going to eat through soap like crazy and order a better one. Any recommendations?

Re: Foam Cannon Help
My experience so far.
Warm water works better.
More soap in the bottle equally a thicker foam but you won't as much from the bottle. I put a good bit of soap but that foams my car for maybe 3 washes?
Depends a lot on the psi and gpm of your pw. And the adjustments on the foam cannon itself

Is 4oz typical for a foam cannon? I already have a gallon. Just wasn't sure if that's how cannons work or not.

I used about 4oz per wash lol. I'm using a 2800 psi pressure washer.
As for adjustments on the cannon: the nozzle would adjust from a vertical foam stream to just a jet, then the top knob goes from full foam to just water. There's not much adjustment

Re: Foam Cannon Help
While I haven't used 901, I know soaps behave differently in foam canons. I would suggest picking up a soap formulated for use in a foam gun/canon.
McKee's 37 Xtreme Foam Formula High Yield Foaming Auto Shampoo- Foamaster gun car wash
McKee's 37 Power Wash, foaming wash and wax

Re: Foam Cannon Help
Thanks for the replies! Does the pic with 4oz look like the kind of foam one would want? If I use 4oz in my cannon and 3 for the two bucket method, a car wash will cost me $1.64. I can live with that haha

Full foam to just water is a huge range of adjustment :-). I get more foam than you posted with a 1.2 gpm 1700 psi electric pw. Maybe that soap just doesn't foam great

Re: Foam Cannon Help
I'm guessing (take with a grain of salt) it's the shampoo you're using. I have no experience with it, but, I've used different shampoos in my gun and cannon and they do act very differently.
Of the few I've tried, the CG Mr Pink does a very good job. (I'm not a CG fan). Never tried the McKee's but will definitely give it a shot if it's available in the gallon size.
