Question on dr colorchip and detail

So a friend got a new car and I offered to work on it with him if he needs help. He agreed and then we had some trouble finding time. He was driving it and someone put a small chip in the car and then another backed up into it and caused a small chip. I said get the dr colorchip small kit and then well detail the rest of the car. I was wondering how long do I need to wait after filling in the chips to wash, clay and decon, correct, etc

wash, clay, and decon you can do relatively soon after you applied Dr CC. However, after you clay you will need to do paint correction due to marring and I would wait at least a few days before attempting that. The paint even though it initially cures is still very soft. It also depends how aggressive you will be with paint correcting so there are many factors involved. Letting a true professional in the field handle this would be best.

Yesterday I applied touch up paint from the dealer to two scratches on a pickup. I washed and clayed about an hour later. Then compounded 2 hours later with a microfiber pad and fg 400. The touch up stayed in place. If it would have came out I would have just reapplied.

Also keep in mind that you might need to do a couple layers with Dr Colorchip, waiting in between each coat.

I've done countless of these and starting to build quite the collection of these paint systems lol.

Yes I have some on my facebook page and website gallery(I am still trying to organize my gallery due to going with a new web hoster so the pics are all over the place right now).

Again keep in mind these kind of repairs is what I call a 3 footer repair. Meaning from 3 feet away and further you really can't tell the difference. I take pics of the before and afters at just a few inches away so keep that in mind. I also don't use any photo editing or special lenses.
