    Garage Makeover Phase I.

Fujitsu ASU12RLS / AOU12RLS Halcyon 12,000 BTU 25 SEER Heat Pump Single Zone Ductless Mini Split Air Conditioner

    Technical Info:
    One Outdoor Unit. ( ASU12RLS )
    - One 12000 btu indoor unit. ( AOU12RLS )
    - One Indoor unit mounting plates.
    - One Wireless LCD Remote Control.
    - Installation Instructions

    About Ductless
    ------------------------------------
Ductless Mini-split systems are popular in Europe and Asia. They are similar to conventional central air systems in that an indoor air handler is connected to an outdoor condensing unit. They are different though in that each room has its own air handler that is connected to the compact outside unit by flexible refrigerant lines; there is no ductwork required. The installation is a breeze only requiring a 3" hole in the wall to pass the copper tubing, communication/power wiring and condensation drain hose. Some Ductless Mini-split system can even function at lower outdoor ambient temperatures.

I think I will LOVE this unit, especially in the summer. It is a small Air Handling Unit, but it heated up my small 2 car garage (400 sqft). It was a cold day for us, low 40's. I have emptied the garage.. I was cleaning baseboards in prep for Race Deck type flooring and Gladiator Premeir Cabinets. Before long I was sweating. I turned the unit down to 68 and stopped sweating. MY garage isnt insulated yet so I didnt expect this. I will arrange for insulation tomorrow. Mrs. OT wouldnt let me take Before Pics until I emptied the garage. Said it would be like taking photos of a dirty bathroom! I will have her take pics this week.

Sounds great Jim the Fujitsu units are great I've used them before and like you say they are easy to install inside and out . You can buy the preformed base slabs and not have to worry about framing out a base and mixing up some concrete .

No Tim, I found a licensed HVAC man who installed t and sold me the unit. He will do warranty work if needed. I got it turnkey for a lot less than the first quote last year. It took him and his helper about 4 hours. They had to run 220V outside. Well worth it to me. I wouldnt call it a breeze with 8 manhours required.

I am glad you finally got the ductless system...at a better price. If you haven't ordered the Race Deck yet send me a pm for a discount deal I know of.
