Re: And so it begins! Diamond plating.
What's the description of that particular sheet? Is it "tread plate"? Reason I ask is because it doesn't seem to be the high gloss reflective variety "diamond tread plate" or is it just my phone view?

Re: And so it begins! Diamond plating.
Correction: I believe it's called "tread brite"
I worked for an aluminum company for several years a while back and I'm testing my memory.

My buddy did the same thing. He works at a HVAC/sheet metal fabrication company, so he got the sheets at close to wholesale price. He went all the way up to the ceiling. He loves chucking things at the walls and nothing bad happening. I've wanted to do the same thing to my garage ever since. His panels had a plastic protective film on the top side that he pealed off after installation. They were shiny underneath.

That is correct my friend! It looks a little weathered and not super bright or shiny. Should match my Kobalt cabinets pretty good.

Sounds nice! I am going 4ft up the wall all the way around, but the wall that joins the house with all my cabinets and detailing stuff on will be fully plated top to bottom.
Stuff is not cheap. Right around $100 a panel.

Is that .125 aka 1/8th inch thick? Or is it .063? Or did you go heavy duty and get .188?

I believe it is .125. I had a sheet up by the mat station if you remember. That piece was super shiny and much thinner in comparison to this stuff. I will have to repaint above where that old piece was from taking it down. No big deal.

Sounds about right. I remember that thin .063 tread brite like it was yesterday.
.125 inch is solid for what you're doing. It can easily handle your boy going directly at it with a bat a few times with no damage at all. Lol.
