    Milk Spill and Odor Removal

    Hi Mike,

I have recently come across an SUV where a gallon of milk was spilled in the back compartment. The milk has soaked into the carpet and down to the frame, and also trickled down from the very back compartment to the back seat area of the vehicle. The milk has been sitting for about a week maybe 2. I have already removed the carpets and seats and steam cleaned the frame and extracted the padding and surface of the carpets but the odor still remains. I have also used an ozone treatment as well. What else could you recommend? Chemicals, procedure, anything you think I may have overlooked? Thanks!

Spilled milk is the devil. You're not just battling the order but the enzemes and proteins that have gotten into every little nook and cranny. Just water aint gunna get it.

Something like this is probably going to be your best shot. I used something from petsmart and I had to equally soak the area like the milk did for it to finally go away after "renting" an extractor at a swirl inducer car wash place.

You will need an enzyme that will kill the bacteria. Google Bio Zyme.

As said above, use the enzymatic cleaners.

    and GOOD LUCK

Anytime I've tried, smell came back when it got real hot/humid.
