    Help Choosing Products

Ho does one go about choosing the right product. I only work on my vehicles and have only used some Meguiar's products. Cost is not the total answer as I have found in doing bodywork that you can buy filler for $20/gallon and $40 and up. I found that with the $40/g I can work easier and use less product to get the same end results. I am sure cleaners and polishes etc are the same. So please help describe good products to use for all phases from cutting compounds to polishes or sealers. Am new to the detailing and would like to minimize expense of trial and error as much as possible. Thanks in advance for any and all advise.

    Re: Help Choosing Products

Man! Nice post! I would have saved at least $1,000 or more on product I found that was not suited for me.

Since it is working on your rides only, you do not have to get the large size products.

You are correct by saying some products work better than others. For compounding and polishing I like Menzerna FG400 and SF4500. Others like SF4000 as a polishing compound, however, after trying both I prefer SF4500.

Wolfgang compounds and Polish are top notch. Meguiar's 105/205 are excellent too. IMO you cannot go wrong with any of these.

As for a Sealant. I like Menzerna Powerlock. I have tried the Blackfire Sealant and Pinnacle Black Label Sealant and they are all top notch too. There are several other brands, however, most on this forum will say that what I have recommended is a good choice. BTW, AGO is under the umbrella of PBMG (Palm Beach Motoring Group) and they have a plethoria of products. They are the LARGEST Online Detailing store in the US.

Good luck in choosing!! Poorboy's, Collinite, and Dodo Juice are great too.

The only thing I could recommend is get the small bottles. No need for the gallon or large bottle's.

Today they have a sale and that would be something I would also take advantage of.

    Good luck and good hunting!
