    Hydrophobic technology

I just watched a couple of videos on the product super hydrophobic. Spray this on your boots and NO mud adheres to it. Most amazing product I've seen. Now, how is this gonna affect the car detailing business? Curious. Check out the utube videos on this amazing product

    Re: Hydrophobic technology

You are, most likely, referring to 'Neverwet'. There are some major drawbacks to this technology which means that, in its present form, it is totally unsuitable for automotive application.

Do a search, there have been a lot of threads on the topic.

I've looked at a little. Think the durability is pretty short, at least for the "Neverwet".

Is a cool product though. Amazing hydrophobic proprieties

    Re: Hydrophobic technology

If you guys are looking for boats, a ceramic or glass coating will offer hydrophobic properties to keep the boat clean.

    Re: Hydrophobic technology

To be considered a Super Hydrophobic 'Coating':
Isn't some type of nanotechnology involved?

Perhaps it's some type of "nano-polymer"...
that's combined with a liquid delivery system?

    Sure...
There's still a lot of issues (including human-beings' Health & Safety) surrounding "nano-"; but, when I take into account the size of nanotechnology...(measured in billionths of a meter)...and the kind of "work" that can go on at that level:

    I find myself asking:
Why can't the incredible become possible?!?!
