Come on Kyle, he played your game!, it's your turn.

To OP, would help if you put a flashlight over the piece (~1 meter distant shining perpendicular to it) and take a new picture for us to better see the light scratches.

    Kind Regards.

Thumbnails are always a let down

It seems that people who don't care enough to post a proper picture, are the same people who take crummy pictures

Re: Light scrathes in aluminum door sill

I may have missed it in this conversation but I didn't see anyone ask if there was black transfer when using metal polish?!?! If you aren't getting any black residue you aren't polishing metal, you are polishing the coating/clear over it and need to use compounds and polishes that you would use on clears. Other wise you will probably beat your head against the wall trying to make a clear shine with metal polishes. Also if you chose to remove the coating and create a great shine on the bare aluminum their are compounds out there dedicated to aluminum. I have seen many people get frustrated over the years when they cannot correct oxidized aluminum with over the counter metal polish. Its nearly the same as paint polishing - try to cut heavy oxidation using an AIO or lite polish...... it would drive you nuts! Hope all this helps

OT but don't you think AG should allow a better format for their image attachment parameters? i wonder if they even know. i mean, this forum is HIGHLY dependent on visuals and imagery, yet for some reason when we try to attach an image it's 1. dumbed down to an almost unusable resolution when on a computer and 2. apparently totally useless on mobile judging from the response about the thumbnails not expanding.

i'm on other vb forums and they allow MUCH higher resolutions for attached images.

it's annoying that you have to host the image elsewhere and then use image tags to have a decent size image show up on this forum.
