Need help with shifter console
This is a 2007 Camry, it is my DD. I spilled Purrel hand sanitizer and I think it may have permanently damaged the finish. I've tried multiple interior cleaners without any success.
Any ideas?

OUCH!
Do you think the alcohol in the hand sanitizer did it?

OUCH for sure you could see if some sort of compound you have on hand might help lighten and or clean up the damage but if no success then don't keep trying just find a cheap replacement or plasti dip the areas are two good alternatives

Maybe a vinyl wrap.

A Friend had the same Camry
That plastic section is easily scratched and cannot be polished back into reasonable condition
The section does pop out somewhat easily if you decide to paint or wrap it
I would pop it out and take it to a pro shop that does wraps. Ask if they can wrap it with a scrap for $25. You might be surprised. Especially if you are willing to be flexible with how long you give them to slide it in between other work
Hopefully, they have a wrap that is thin enough that it will pop back IN
Looks like a replacement is available on Ebay for $150

Saw the replacement on eBay. I thought about hitting up a local You Wrench It scrap yard. I considered Hydro dipping it as well. I don't think it will repair other than wrapping. I'm sure it was the alcohol that caused the problem.
Thanks for the feed back

Use Google to determine what the part number is
These type of pieces are usually pulled out of the vehicle soon after it arrives at the wrecker, cataloged and stored on a shelf
Call an import wrecker specialist. They can usually tell you immediately if they have one in stock.

Purel has abrasive sand feeling compounds in it I believe. Some rubbing probably scratched it. You could always paint it and add clear coat?? That could work.
