What to use after clear bra is applied
Hello,
I am a newbe with my wife's new car, 2013 Blue Dodge Charger (off the lot with 67 miles). To protect it I had a clear bra put on in front and I did the bottom of doors, rockers, front and rear splash guard area and the top of the back bumper.
Before I found this forum, my local detail shop sold me Kamikaze over coat.
1: How do I tell when this over coat has hit its limit?
2: Is there something that I can put on the car to protect paint and the bra?
3: I dont have a polisher so all the work is done by hand, if that matters.
4: Remember I am new to all this so hopefully whatever is suggested is easy....
BTW-Thanks to all who reviewed and talked about Meg's Dub wheel cleaner. My car is 10 years old and never had that kind of cleaning on the wheels. Wow did it work. I had to do it twice and there where still spots that I think are permanently marked, but its good for me.
Also, I learned to keep my mouth shut and lean in at an angle when using a brush. That stuff is not good on the lips or face!!!(I told you I was a newbe!!!!)

some of the more permanent coatings don't sound like the right option for you at this stage so i'd look into Opti-Seal. it's SO easy to use and is super slick. then just keep it up with a quality wash and wax product. reapply every Opti-Seal every couple months at the minimum, esp. if it's a daily driver. it's too easy to ignore imo.
and a bottle of Opti-Seal will last a LONG time. a little goes a LOOOONG way.

I use a sealant on mine. Was told by the installer that carnubas "can" yellow the film. Don't know the truth to that, but I use sealant on the paint anyway, so it just carries over to the film (either Klasse or Duragloss).

Recommended by PPF manufacturers:
•XPel Flawless Finish Sealant
•Premier Protective Films PF1 Crystalline Sealant

PPF will naturally yellow over time due to UV degradation. Carnauba wax can elicit a slight yellowish hue (depending on the wax used) but shouldn't be staining the film in any way.

sealants have worked for 4 years on mine until i coated the car.. now I use reload.. no yellowing
just apply toward the window on the hood as to not get sealant in the gap, same for every other edge.

Re: What to use after clear bra is applied
All film will yellow. Some in 3 years, some in 5 years. Nothing you can do about it. Replace when needed. Same your money and stop trying to protect the film designed to protect the paint.
There is vast amounts of knowledge at your fingertips, use Google, Youtube, and the search button.

I called SunTek directly and they recommended using a sealant and to stay away from waxes which can cause yellowing. Seems like this doves tails nicely what the OPs are reporting. You can also nanoskin (mitt or towel) & use a paint cleanser to help remove contamination from the film. Do not machine polish.
Black Fire Crystal Seal is easy to use and works well. CarPro Reload is another good choice.

Thanks for the replies. I think I am leaning towards Reload.
