Meg's Final Inspection instead of Panel Wipe?
I don't like the idea of chemically stripping the paint unless I am using a coating. Can Meguair's Final Inspection be used instead after machine polishing to check "True Correction" as a lot of compounds/polishes/pre-wax cleansers have a tendency to temporarily fill?
Also, do you see anything wrong with FI being used as a QD or will it eventually strip the LSP as unlike most QDs it does not add any protection? I like the idea of it being body shop safe, it means it won't alter the look/water behavior of my LSP.

I am particularly not fond of IPA, Panel Wipe, Eraser, Gtechniq Panel Wipe etc.

Body shop safe doesn't mean it has anything "solvent like" that will strip fillers or polishing remnants. Remember - a QD is supposed to be wax or sealant safe - not strip polymers. I doubt FI would do anything water wouldn't do in this department.

IMO FI is not going to remove polish residue to check for "true correction". IMO you are reading too much into the product description. It is a QD, for dust and fingerprints. It simply leaves out some glossing ingredients that would cause fisheyes.

What don't you like about IPA, Panel wipe, etc?
I'm guess what you don't like about them is the same thing that makes them effective in removing oils.
FI does contain some ingredients that will aid in removal of polishing oils, but I don't think it's going to be very effective. If it's a matter of lubricity, try your own little test: Add some IPA to Final Inspection (check with Megs for compatability) to get a more effective oil cleaner.
Another option would be adding some IPA to ONR or opti-clean. IIRC, there was a thread on another forum where Chris suggested adding something similar to IPA to opti-clean to increase it's cleaning ability for interiors. Again, check with Optimum for compatability.

What is your compound/polish combo?
With Meguiar's I use M34. With FG400/SF4000 I Menzerna Top Inspection.
