New to The New Products For Detailing

I recently recieved my cristmas present to my self so that I can get started, sort of. I have the Porter Cable Dual Action buffer. I just purchased from Autogeek a 5In DA Hook and Loop Flexible backing Plate and the Lake Country Hydro Tech Essentials Pad kit which came withe the Conditioner and Cleaner. I have a White 2003 Chevy Z71 that is going to be my first detail experience. What I am looking for advice on now is a basic kit of the polishes , swirl removers and waxes. Looking for a reasonable starters kit, I will never do this professionally, but may do my kids cars and a few friends. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Mike.

    I think FG400 and SF4000 would be a great.

Menzerna FG400 - Fast cutting compound that finishes very well and is versatile. Your pad selection will determine the level of cut.

    Flex 3401 + Polishing Pad w/ FG400

Menzerna SF4000 - Great polish to remove light to moderate swirls and scratches while increasing the gloss.

    Flex 3401 + Polishing Pad w/ SF4000

Remember to clay before you polish (just a reminder )

I agree FG 400! Here is a couple pics of a 1 step with it. I used Griot's 5" and uber yellow pads.

Meguiar's ultimate compound and ultimate polish are very good over the counter products that are user friendly. They are good products to start and learn with until you get your technique down. You can find them at your local autoparts store or walmart.

I use FG400 and SF4000 on almost all of my corrections. Menz makes some of the best stuff! Sonax comes in a VERY close second to Menz for me!
