Black Label Cleansing Polish before Opticoat?
Ive been meaning to apply OC2.0 for a while, and recently bought the BL glass coating and cleansing polish. That made me wonder. Would the cleansing polish be a good option for paint prep before applying opticoat? If not, I'll just use eraser followed by prepsol. I'd like to save a few steps if possible though.
Also, can you use the cleansing polish on the coated surface (any coating) as a way of cleaning away anything traditional methods may leave? I'm thinking of a 6-12mo schedule.

Optimum (Dr. G) has recommendations...
But I don't remember Prepsol being one of them, for the OC 2.0-prep.
It's probably pretty harmless to the perfectly polished painted panels.
There is a dedicated "primer polish/catalyst" that comes with Opti-Gard.
Be nice to get hold of some of that to use prior to an OC 2.0 application!

Thanks Bob!
I always do enjoy your posts. The only official recommendations from optimum I've seen is to use 15% IPA. Seeing how much is discussed on here about fillers and polishing oils I thought I'd get others opinions on the PBMG product.
The prep-sol was something I'd read from BobbyG. It made sense to me, and I trust him. If I'd have known I'd be coating my truck when I originally started this addiction I'd have bought OPT polishes, but I didn't. Live and learn.

-I like PrepSol myself...For: Checking the "Test Spot", for example.
-But not for Coatings'-prepping...on the entire vehicle.
That's a process usually reserved for body shop re-sprays.
It's not too late to get/use OC 2.0's preferred application method's products:
-Hyper polish, remove, apply OC 2.0;
-Hyper polish, ONR; dry, apply;
-Hyper polish, wipe-down with damp microfiber towels, dry and apply.
