Re: Back in Black! 1969 GTO!!!

For those who have met Den know he is mild mannered, kind of the silent type unlike myself and Robert Diterlizzi and sometimes Chris on the Thursday night makeovers.

He comes in and addresses the task at hand does the work and leaves.

Oil and fluid can mix with the right congealing agent..........Mike Phillips.

Respect for each others talents and or faults in the AG garage runs rampant and with our leader you see the results on Den`s GOAT.

    Mike learned him well.

If I can do this right, here are some shots of under hood that was asked about. Just hope they're not upside down. Den

Love the car, the black paint looks 10 miles deep, not a big fan of the wheels but to each his own. I'd love to see a set of rallye II's on it or better yet some modern 16" version of the rallye II's w/o the beauty ring, perfect!

Growing up in Detroit my neighbor bought a 68' Goat for $600, that was in 1976 and he's still got it. Its 82' Corvette red, has S/S Cragers and buckets out of a Chevelle SS, really nice car. My Mom has a pic of my standing next to it when I was 6 yrs old (1976) and I'm barely the height of the wheelwell opening, gotta love airshocks, LOL!

Re: Back in Black! 1969 GTO!!!

I worked urethane with paint years ago when I had my shop, and I know how difficult it can be to get a show car car shine with it.
I can say what you have achieved is incredible!!!
    Excellent, excellent work.
Thank you for taking the time to share this, it is a pleasure to see such fine work.

Re: Back in Black! 1969 GTO!!!

It's a 400 engine. Just put 500 miles on it yesterday. Want to take it to the strip and run some 1/4's. We think we can get in the 12.'s with the add on's. We'll see. Thanks to everyone for all the great feedback and to Mike and all the Thursday guys for teaching me. Den

Hope you fixed the oil leaks before going to the track.

Re: Back in Black! 1969 GTO!!!

To date I think Den has used nothing but Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax to seal the paint and create the deep, wet shine.

So while I know coatings are getting a lot of attention sometimes a traditional high quality car wax is the best fit for a car and the owner.

I'm sure if Den is in town the weekend of Detail Fest he'll have his car on display. So mark your calenders as Detail Fest is March 15th and 16th this year.

Maybe we can park Den's GTO next to Tommy's show winning Cuda?
