Using isopropyl alcohol to soften the paint before detailing

    Greetings!
Recently I had a conversation with CarPro about pre-work, required before applying Cquartz.
One of the suggested finishing steps was to wipe the car's paintwork with a diluted isopropyl alcohol mixture.
The CarPpro person has mentioned, that doing this will safely soften the paint for about 30 minutes time period.
My question is: if applying isopropyl alcohol softens the paint temporarily, would it make sense to apply it just before a routine paint correction and not just before applying Cquartz?

I don't know how many corrections you've done but the word "soft paint" and "paint correction" should be as far away from one another as possible. I would prefer going aggressive on a hard clear then having to baby and tenderly pay attention to the most minute hand gesture on a soft paint.

I'm a little confused. If this is the conversation I believe it to be with me being the Carpro person there was something lost in translation.

Proper prep for application of Cquartz is to decontaminate, polish, use Eraser to free the surface of all oils and then apply the coating. As far as alcohol from what I've seen its a very minimal affect and evaporates with temporary affect almost as fast as applied.

    All good points!
I have not done any major corrections yet, so I was asking to see if that was a good idea. Sounds like it is not.
Thank everyone for such a quick answers!

I don't believe people are saying that it isn't a good idea, rather that it doesn't do what you believe.
