Re: Best product to clean tires so you can apply tire shine
+3 A pm will work.
By the way, I have my chosen cleaner for tires. I'll use the apc for other things.

I need to find that store. I pay 9.55/Gal for mine but 6 sounds better.

Amazing Roll Off is the best thing I have ever used to clean tires.

LA Totally Awesome is great on tires. I haven't had a problem with it getting on the wheels. I use it at full strength too. I had a chance to compare it with zep 505 again this weekend. I think the LATA does better but the Zep smells better. Tough call. Both are available OTC.

Roshan did an excellent write up on Meg's APC regular version (greenish blue color). I think I'll try that next, along with Meg's super degreaser which also gets stellar reviews. Both can be had for ridiculously cheap prices if you go through the aforementioned unnamed vendor lol.

It must be me, but with the last several cars I have owned, if I use anything stronger than Meg's carwash soap on the tires, they turn brown! I have even strayed away from tire dressings. I have read a lot on the forums about browning and "blooming" but I have the worst luck with tire cleaning so I use mild soap and a brush. I wipe them down with a black MF towel. I know they aren't clean, but I don't want to take any more risks of browning. Even my P21S gel has caused browning when it dripped from my alloys. Just bought a bottle of Meg's #40 and hope this will help.

My guess is to get it that cheap, you have to sign up for something and pay a fee ???
Anyway, I like Tuff Shine Tire Cleaner. I tried APC+. Then I cleaned with TS and watched the brown junk drip off without touching it. Only drawback to TS is the price, but its one of those things worth paying for IMO.
