Wetsand with the gg3 mini polisher

The perfect speed to wetsand with the gg3 mini polisher? Using a 3m 3000 foam sand disc.

You are using the interface pad as well correct?

I would start around the 3 or 4 speed. You dont want to go to fast and risk sanding more than needed.

Its just like polishing paint only you dont need very much downward pressure. Just enough to keep the disc level with the surface with about the weight of the machine.

What Mike aka smack said and...

Mark your backing plate with a permanent marker so you can ensure the backing plate/sanding disc is rotating.

You want the disc rotating and oscillating, not just jiggling.

With light pressure I can get rotation on the 2 setting and use this to get guys comfortable with the tool to sand close to edges. After they get comfortable bump up to the 4 -5 setting.

    Medium arm speed.

I'll be putting some pictures of the guys dampsanding the 1964 Malibu convertible today...

Also, if you sand without the interface it will cut faster but it won't sand as smooth, it will feel jump or grabby.
