What settings should i have my washer and dryer on ?

    Dryer Controls

    Temperature

    Air Fluff
    Low
    Regular
    Auto Temp

    Im thinking Air Fluff .

    Dryness Settings ?
    Damp
    Less
    Normal
    More

    Fabric Selection ?

    Delicates
    Wrinkle Control
    Regular

    Time Dry Air Fluff
    10 - 60

    THen my washer

    Fabric Selection
    Handwash
    Delicates
    Wrinkle Control
    Regular

    Wash/Rinse Temp
    Cold/Cold
    Cold / Cold ATC
    Warm/Cold ATC
    HOT/Cold ATC

I am not using bleach, fabric softners, just using a little bit of detergent.

Low temp, normal dryness, delicate fabric. I set mine on regular which runs until it detects they are dry. Works fine.

For washing I set mine on delicate, cold, medium speed, 2 rinses which uses vinegar in the second rinse.

ok i thought we shouldn't run it on any kind of heat temp even low ? Also on regular, you are referring to my fabric selection right ?

Also what is the different between Temperature vs Dryness Setting ? I understand in dryness setting if u choose MORE then it will take more time to get more dry but doesn't that mean it will use HEAT or is that just more time in there with just regular blowing air ?

I wash mine on HOT or EXTRA HOT and then dry on LOW.

My mother helped me with this question. Now silk is more delicate than MF. MF is actually a very tough material.

You wash silk in warm water.

So I wash my MF on regular warm water, 20 minute cycle.

I dont put mine in a dryer. I take them out of the washer, shake them so the fibres fluff up again, then hang them on a clothes rack to dry.

I have put some in the dryer before (junk ones I use around the house) and I found the heat can make them loose their fluffy nappe.

I also started using a dedicated MF detergent, I used to think they were $$$ gimmicks, but I am sold, it really does work well.

Don't baby your microfibers, or they won't grow up to be men!

Hot water, plenty of detergent, hot dryer. If you have good quality towels, none of that will bother them. If they are crappy quality, they will curl a little at the edges, still fine.

My theory of why so many people have problems with their MF's is hard water mineral buildup.

    +2,

Hot Water (Max out water heater if needed), Extra Rinse

Tuble Dry Low, 30 - 45 Min (IPA your dryer drum if you use alot of dryer sheets on regular clothers)

Pre-Soak 24 hours in a 5 gallon bucket with All Free and Clear or a designated MF Soap to get the majority of your polishes, cleaners & LSP out of the towel before they even go through your washer.

I use Snappy-Clean or the DP equivalent for pre-soak, most of the time.
