Question Has anyone used any of the 12v portable vacuums?

Hello, i was wondering if anyone has had any experience with the 12volt cigarette lighter plug in vacuums? living in an apartment makes it difficult to wash my car often, although i have the ability to do it at work, the vacuum they have is a pain in the bum to use, if those plug ins are good than i would consider one for weekly maintenance. or any recommendation for the rechargeable ones? i dont see any sold in the AG store so i assume its not even worth my time asking lol

Not sure if it's a 12 volt vacuum but I have a small cigarette lighter vacuum that fits snuggly in my glovebox and i'd say it's perfect for weekly maintenance. A bit easier to use for light dust and small leaves and such rather than pulling out a full size vacuum especially considering your vacuum situation lol. I'd say get it it's nice to have. However, if the dirt has piled up from a few weeks it takes a bit more time to clean as the suction isn't great but it's perfect for maintenance!

dude iv bought one of those handheld battery ones for my room...and it barely picked up a dead roach in the patio lol so yea im very iffy on them but then again it cost me $20 at brandsmart. im leaning more towards the corded versions if noone else chimes in and i guess just run extension cords to somewhere

-I saw a Dewalt vacuum at Home Depot today that's 120v AC or 12-18v DC.
-There was also a 18v-DC-only Dewalt

I need something like one of these to replace my tired old Shark.
Sounds like it'll be a good stocking-stuffer from The Good Wife.

i think it might take a larger than usual sock to fit one of those lol i wish these vacuums were easy to compare with others but i think a
good point for comparison would be if it can lift the floor mats atleast slightly that would be a good vacuum

Used these all the time when I was driving big rig. You can get them with the rotating carpet heads and crevice tools. They were alright for maintenance but I always used the big vac when I got home. Always had a corded one so cannot comment on the rechargeable ones but Dewalt is a good brand-name.

-If that's how you define a good vacuum...

Then...Take a floormat into HD...and ask to take the Dewalt display-models for a: 'spin around the block'.

-May just be an uplifting experience enjoyed by yourself...As well as many others.

Re: Has anyone used any of the 12v portable vacuums?

I have an older Black and Decker 12V and I was using it pretty much exclusively to vacuum my car. It had decent suction for a small tool. The drawbacks is it had no attachments to get to hard to reach places like under the seats or in cracks and crevices, and it wasnt great at filtering dust. I think I had gotten it for free, but its a decent tool to use for simplicity.
