Question Paint Correction - A vehicle that is partially airbrushed

    Mike,

A buddy of mine has a 350Z show car and wants me to detail it. The whole front end was professionally airbrushed.

I'm sure it has been cleared all to heck. If not any recommendations/tips etc or treat it just like a regular finish?

He said he's been using a Dewalt Variable Speed buffer @1800rpm and 3M products. He attempted to clay it but it was feeling dry (probably not enough lubricant) so he stopped.

    Thanks,

I think there's little doubt that it's been cleared so I agree you and would treat this like a regular paint job...Do you know how long ago it was painted?

Seems like a good time for a paint thickness gauge. He has been using a rotary on it? Hmmm. I would go easy on it. Hate to burn through that clear. That would suck.

I would treat it like anything else with clear, least aggresive first. How bad are the swirls/?/

Not sure on the swirls haven't seen it for a while. Where can I pick a gauge up at?
