Why the flat pads? Why the Griot Garage DA? Im in the market for an orbital too and thought the PC was the best (since everywhere I see it is referenced). Do I really need more power?
if there not flat all they do is start to rip and dont have the bite/cut to them . flat pads make the job go alot faster also

Can I use the Lake Country Pads you referenced earlier or do I need to use Meguiars?
I'm sorry to all, this is VERY new topic to me and I'm trying to learn as much as possible and do it right so I don't screw it up!
The Meguiars backing plate tends to keep the the MF pads a bit cooler than the LC backing plate. When using foam pads, you can get away with either backing plate.

So when you say foam pads work with either plate that means the LC pads will work just fine with the Meguiars backing plate?
