Fixing spot in charcoal carpet where chemical distorted color pretty bad

I have a client who just called me and stated he had a stain on his carpet in his 2008 Yukon and its the Charcoal/black color carpet. He said he used something to clean the spot (he didnt state what he used). Whatever he did I guess turned the carpet a brownish, gray color...

I'm thinking hes used something with a bleach additive or something of that nature and its starting to remove the carpet dye..

My thought is do you know of any place or trick to get this carpet back to color. I was thinking get some dye close to the same color and work it in till it matches but I wasnt for sure where or if anyone sold Dyes for this purpose??

    Thanks in advance,
    James

Yes, just order a can of carpet dye. Try G & M paint and supply over on No. Keystone Rd (317) 926-4554. They should either have what you need or be able to point you in the right direction

Clean the area well, let dry. Cut out a template of the area you need to cover (poster board works well) then apply two or three coats. Wait about an hour between each coat if possible

You also are going to want to leave all doors open and mask off your interior glass and door panels with paper. I would lay old bed sheets/towels around your steering column and seats to avoid overspray infecting these areas

You can do this. Its super simple

I've used Mar-Hyde and SEM products for things like this, usually if you can get it close its better than replacing the carpet.

If G & M paint and supply is a PBE store then they should have one or the other or something similar.

I typed in mar hyde carpet dye and found this pictures,
