If the suns out and it's 60 degrees then by all means go right ahead. While I can't be certain I suspect it'll get colder before it gets warmer....

OK I guess I have no excuse now. Football is not that good, and it has kept me from doing this the last few weekends. whoo hoo! wax on wax off..... more fun than football.

Should I wax today? That's a silly question... kind of like, should I eat today? I'm sorry, but if you have to ask, please turn in your buffer..

Whats the ideal temperature to put wax on. Around 50 is little too cold?

50 is getting down there. Where I live, when it's 50 degree's out, it's also very humid, as in very close to the dew point. The dew point is 100% relative humidity. This means while you are wiping with a fresh, clean MF, the paintwork seems to streak. It's mostly condensation, but it makes it a little bit harder to remove product.

What's the ideal temperature for applying wax? Certainly not 50 degree's, but it would not stop me. All products work a little bit differently. Some products are a bit sensative if it's too hot, or too cold, but I find that temps in between say, 62 and 78 degree's is fairly neutral.

    Re: should i wax today

OK....... This should bring out the faithful.

I was looking for somene to address temps for waxing. But what the heck, I started anyway. The wax was a bit thick and I ended up waxing the car at about 50 degress but still had sun.

I got the top done but it did seem to dry slow and stay wet. I started the hood, same thing. So I finished the hood and came back to football.

I have no buffer to turn in. This was a hand job. I like hand jobs. So I felt as if I hand to have plenty clean MF towels around.

I guess I should have addressed my concern for the temps as well as the direct sun question. But I like and thanks to the all replys. I did manage to get some protction on the car and enjoyed the delite of: to become one with the car again. Enjoy
