    Re: polishing spray painted car

If you're talking about the Honda in this thread,

    http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/...paint-car.html

I mentioned in my reply in the above thread that usually spray can paint jobs are thin, so wet-sanding, (which removes paint), then compounding, (which removes more paint), and then polishing, (which will remove a little more paint), probably would result in removing a majority of the paint sprayed onto this car.

Besides that aspect, sanding and buffing a car is a lot of work that will require a lot of time...

How much is your time worth? How much will the owner pay you to do a complete sand and buff on this old Honda?

Also, Fish Eyes are "throughout" the matrix of paint, not a topical defect, what this means is more and more buffing won't produce better and better results in the context of removing the Fish Eyes.

    Make sense?

Seriously, if the owner is willing to pay you to buff out the car, and you've already proven that a one-step cleaner wax will gain the paint shine, then use the one-step cleaner/wax, do the best you can do and move on...

Buffing out this car is a good example of doing what you can with what you have to work with...

Do take some great before and after pictures with the advice in mind given here...
