How to maintain finish after I get it perfect?

    Mike,
Well after I washed, clayed and got the swirls of the black XLR_V into the sun, things didn't look so well. I think I can fix that by using the right pad and the wolfgang swirl remover. The pad I used wasn't abrasive enough I found out later.

My real question is when the car is show perfect and you take it out for a drive and it gets all dusty, what is the best way to remove that dust without adding more swirls and small scratches into the body??

Any advice you can give me here would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Step by step, just follow the steps we talked about in the detailing class and ALWAYS do a TEST SPOT first before going over the entire car.

I wrote a very detailed article on how to carefully wipe down a show car finish with a spray detailer, one of the secrets was to use a lot of microfiber polishing towels.

    Here's the link,

Besides that you can try a California Duster

    Or a traditional wash method,

lock it in an air-tight bubble ....

Seriously though, go washing and drying techniques seem to offer the best of benefits. Surely they reduce swirls and time needed to recorrect paint.
