Recommendation
Ok, so I got myself into deep auto detailing about two weeks ago and have been doing a lot of reading. Now I get information overload syndrome lol and dont know how to attack my car, the paint looks decent even without any waxes but there are some water spots on the roof and minor swirls/scratches. I got the makita 9227 and Lake Country 8.5 CCS Pads- 6 PACK, also I got me Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant and Wolfgang Paintwork Polish Enhancer and Pinnacle Signature Series II Carnauba Wax to finish the job. Now my question is do I use compounds to prep the paint and which one should I use, or go straight for the polishes? I was thinking Menzerna power Gloss followed by Super Finish then WPPE, or could I start with something milder like Super Finish? Any help appreciated .
Here are some pics after washing/claying and washing again, no sealant/waxes yet.

Re: Recommendation
Wow you sure jumped in feet first. But like any detailing always do a test spot and start with the least aggresive pad you have.IMO 8.5 pads are pretty big to use even on a rotary. As far as compounds to use it comes back to doing a test spot. Can't go wrong with 105/205 if needed. You may need to pick up some sample size compounds to see which combo will work for you.
