Re: What is wrong with my paint???
you would think? i know people are having paint blistering on the white 370z and a few gt-r that have same silver a gray having marks resembling the hair lines like runs in paint or some craziness. going to dealer tomorrow as this pisses me off after paying 37+K on it. I know the dealer uses a private body/detail shop maybe swing by there first for no BS assessment before even arguing with the service manager. think i'll try and get a paint thickness reading just for kicks

Re: What is wrong with my paint???
Looks like a burn induced by poor use of a rotary polisher..The other cracks not sure but i would definitely be t'eed off considering this is a new vehicle. I would definitely demand a new vehicle and not have the dealer touch it in terms of detailing.

Re: What is wrong with my paint???
Maybe damaged in transit to dealer that they tried to fix(aka hide). It happens more than people know. I live by the Midwest rail dropoff for nissan/infiniti, toyota/lexus and VW. You have to see some of the cars waiting to be repaired. Some look like they fell off the 2nd level of the train car.

If that is Rotary induced that may only be the start of other issues. Take it back! As long as you are within 72 hours of signing they have to agree to exchange the vehicle!

Re: What is wrong with my paint???
yeah i'm beyond that window seeing weather sucked for the last week (owned for 9 days) I finally washed it and just now noticed it. for some reason I didn't catch it at dealer, too happy I got what I've been waiting for. I'll be happy if Nissan just repaints the hatch and leave it at that. there re obvious defects in the CC or paint that look like runs then that thin or burned spot. I never had issues iwth any other Nissan ther then softer paint.

LOL you have never worked for a dealership before. Hell one I use to work for, would do a FULL detail to a lot car, then afterwards run it through the Autoscratch Wash, before putting it on the front lot!

Re: What is wrong with my paint???
UPDATE:
wasn't able to talk to the manager in service who makes the call but talked to the owner of the body shop dealer usses and said it is either somehting they will wet sand then buff, if it is hrough CC then respray as it may be glue residue from the plastic covers or also looks like there could be no Clear Coat even on that one spot. BUT will have to go back through the service manager and get his blessing to pursue fixing under warranty.

Glad to hear that the problem will be fixed. Sucks that a brand new car might already have paint work done to it though.
