Removing paint from carpet & scratches in plastic???
So, I just picked up a new daily driver for myself, it's an '05 Jeep Grand Cherokee w/ 70k miles on the clock. I got a smoking deal on it because of issues with the interior, the rear cargo area is pretty rough as the previous owner had spilled some paint onto the carpet and put some nice gouges/scratches in the rear plastic interior panels & trim...any recommendations on how to get the paint out if the carpet and gouges out of the plastic?

As far as Fix . Home Depot Stuff to Remove Latex Paint can't grasp the name of it begins w/ Knipfsoff or something had wizard on the bottle. The plastic is problaly hopeless . The no real good fix . All in all I would probaly be easier to replace them, call some junkyards maybe you'll get lucky or LMC truck has alot of truck parts.

Thanks for the reply's...
I actually think I know that Home Depot product.
I'll definitely give it a shot.
I doubt I'll be able to do much about the gouges in the plastic panels but the carpet should be doable, wish me luck

I swung into Home Depot today and didn't find that product at all, they actually had a small selection and most of it was all from the same manufacturer. I picked up a big bottle of Goo Gone and a stiff brush that I'll work with this weekend and go from there, I know the Goo Gone may be useless for it but I needed it anyway so why not give it a shot

Might not hurt to check a junkyard or dismantler of late model vehicles for the parts you need. And depending on the plastic, some of that stuff might be fairly cheap from the dealer.

I have found that for certain very light scratches, some unigrit megs sandpaper 2500 - 3000 grit, you can lightly sand these and then follow up with a product like black wow or 303 to sort of fill in the scratches. You might even need to do a little plastic polishing with scratchx or similar. It is not going to get rid of the deep scratches, but might help with some of the lighter ones. My results have varied, but YMMV.
