I'll have to try some of that wax blaster or one of the many that are available now days , I have always used peanut oil to pull old polish or wax off plastic.

I've been using Stoner Tarminator to remove dried compound and wax from plastics, around and inside emblems, and on panel edges with excellent results.

Have found WG Perfekt Finish Paint Prep to work well in some circumstances.
