    Stains on my hood

    Any idea what could be this stain and what chemicals can I try to remove it? See the attachment

    I can't figure out what we're looking at? Reflections of clouds and a contrail? Or is your hood cloudy? If so, that looks like clearcoat failure.

    I would try an alkaline wash or diluted apc. If those don’t remove it then you’re going to need to polish by hand or with a polisher.

    Agreed with above hard to actually make out stains you’re talking about.

    When viewing the picture on a PC, I was able to blow up the picture a bit, but the resolution really degraded. If we're talking about the hazy area on the left side of the hood seam, then I agree it looks like the start of clearcoat failure.

    Agree. I'd try to gently polish the area and see if there is any improvement. If it is failing, you'll want to proceed with caution and not make the problem worse.

    Safe nitrocellulose solvent for clear coat and paint
