herein lies the question of clean, or what you think is clean until you have tried something else...
My cars are maintained since day 1 from dealer showroom so they're always at a certain level of clean already....

Anyhow, as a bad example, our wood floors. I thought they were pretty clean in itself.
I used our Dupray steamer on it. While the mop head or the media was not extra dirty afterwards, when I walked ontop of it with socks on and almost -slid-, the steamer defiantly cleaned the floors cleaner than what I had already perceived was clean already.

Hence, I'm open to trying new media to clean....albit with all things car, I just want to err on careful as well, cause sometimes you can't reverse what you might have done

Maybe look at it as a once or twice per year deep cleaning. Using it once shouldn’t have irreversible effects. You want to avoid using it dry. Think Magic Eraser and how it needs liquid to prevent dry rubbing.

Re: AutoFiber Scrub Ninja - Anyone use it -long term-

I know this thread was from months ago but I was wiping down the interior of the new car a few minutes ago and had just about started on the steering wheel and thought about this and other threads about the Scrub Ninja

It is a very polarizing product if past threads are any indication

I had promised to clean my Daughters Subaru steering wheel for science and stuffs but they haven’t driven it over here since they bought their new Rav 4

I will still do that if I get a chance but in the meantime I decided to put my money where my mouth was and possibly sacrifice my new baby

New Scrub Ninja, clean cotton wash cloth, P&S Express at 1:1, new washed Kirkland towel

2024 Lexus with 1,316 miles on the clock

Essentially pristine section of the steering wheel

Scrub Ninja with a normal amount of P&S

I started gently rubbing the rear of the section shown and went at it for about 30 seconds and checked the SN pad and it looked pristine

I put in a bit more PS and hit it a bit harder for another 30 seconds and no change

I finally got as aggressive as I remember getting with my 4Runner wheel and after looking at the SN pad I saw absolutely nothing but white foamy PS

I wiped the wheel down with the white cotton cloth and got nothing, ditto the microfiber

I know that picture looks a bit gray but it’s the lighting, the cloth looks no different than before

I didn’t expect to see any dirt, I did this to see if it would strip dye since that seems to be a fairly common fear or observation when a picture of a SN that is black and gross gets posted

The section of the wheel that I beat on feels just as pristine and smooth as the surrounding leather

This has been my experience on the 2020 Lexus as well as the 2017 Tacoma

The 4Runner had close to 180,000 miles on it when I cleaned it with the SN, although it had been maintained with “normal” interior detailing methods, so I remain convinced the black nasty crap I got off it was embedded gunk and not dye

I know this isn’t a definitive test but I am convinced that at least on a cross section of Toyota products the SN doesn’t break down the leather and strip it of dye

    YMMV

@Chilly. Nice test. You’re pretty brave to scrub thst aggressively on a new vehicle.

I had enough confidence in my prior use that it wasn't much of a gamble in my mind
