Low gloss ceramic
Getting my Riverside Blue 2SS 1LE and though I have ceramic and graphene my cars in the past for this one I would like to try going with a low gloss ceramic, I don't want the shine I almost want a flat look. The hood will have matte PPF over the flat hood so I will be using a matte ceramic for that but looking over all the ceramics available I cannot find a low gloss ceramic. Is there one available?

Re: Low gloss ceramic
Yeah any ceramic coating is going to gloss up that metallic paint…..Ppf? Xpel has their stealth line which would probably look interesting.

Re: Low gloss ceramic
The coating we use on stealth film is Xpel Satin.
Before that we just used their old Paint & PPF coating (since been replaced with "Premium").
We've used the Paint & PPF on matte paints too. It just makes it look richer, it doesn't gloss up the paint.
Conversely, the satin coating won't make gloss paint flat or matte.

Re: Low gloss ceramic
By nature, basecoat/clear coat paint on your camaro is supposed to be glossy. If you want it to look flat either wrap it or have it repainted with matte clear.
As dlc95 alluded to, regular coatings don't add much gloss. Gloss comes from polishing and refining the finish with abrasives.

Matte ppf the entire car or have it wrapped. Try that ppf coating on the paint.

Although on gloss paint, I think I'm seeing a more "prismatic" effect from a coated surface. Like I'm looking through a "layer" of clear "something" that's different from traditional waxes or sealants.

This. If you keep the surface free of marring and swirls, it will be naturally shiny on it's own. Anything you put on it, whether a wax, polymer sealant, or ceramic product, will only enhance the gloss further.
