I’ve only used the foam gun from Gilmour with the brass fittings and a foam gun called Grant’s from Harbor Freight which is the same as the one kind Griot’s sells. It does not offer high capacity unlike the Gilmour
My suggestion would be to use a foam gun that offers high capacity so you aren’t constantly refilling it
Treat it like it's the only one in the world.

^ not a fan of the plastic dial. the OG has all brass components and will last you forever. the only thing i have ever had to do to mine is change the inner o-ring when it started to leak. other than that, it's a one time buy and will last...
this is the one i have below, it's a gilmour just rebranded...

I’d pay the premium for the gilmour. If I had to do again I’d get this:

I've been looking at the SwiftJet, Gilmour and Adam's premium foam guns. They all look like they will do a good job. One thing to note is that a garden hose style foam gun should be treated more as a soap dispenser in that you should agitate the soap on the car with a microfiber wash mitt or pad before rinsing. This additional step usually isn't necessary when using a more expensive foam cannon/pressure washer set up which makes a much thicker foam and has higher water pressure.
