Exactly! At least that is how I see it.
I don't buy into the claims that iron particles somehow bury themselves into the clear coat. I rather believe that they bond to the surface just like any other contaminant.
The detailing industry with products like Valugard ABC have led Ford and other vehicle manufacturers into believing contaminants can be inside, embedded in paint and therefore not being able to be fully removed by claying alone. Ford and others have even issued TSBs on the topic of chemical decontamination. I don’t know if they’ve been duped

I run a 400lb. retrieval magnet over my paint bi-yearly.
Mars the f*ck out of the paint, but it pulls all of those harmful, deeply imbedded iron particles out lickety-split!!
It is no coincidence that man's best friend cannot talk.
