when she suggested "Why not just own two bikes?"
I've put about 80k miles on my bike, i love it, but it's going to start getting tired soon. I decided to buy a new bike this year. I was looking at the HD midyear release CVOs but wasn't sure I really loved the changes. Plus, Ive put some time and money into this one, particularly, the audio.
What I want is a bike with some baller audio, that I can tour with.
My wife suggested I just keep my old one, make it my around town parking lot pimpmobile and just get a second bike for touring.
Here's me and my wife on my Street Glide:
this one is coming in June
I am getting to an actual question, but thanks for indulging me, guys....bikes are my jam. I've seen some of you guys do amazing jobs with engines in the engine compartment. Is there a high temp coating or sealant that can go on a hot engine? They are liquid cooled engines, so they don't run as hot as a lot of air cooled bike engines do.
As well, did I mention I have a second bike coming? I'm pretty geeked about that.

1 bike is never enough, don't ask me how I know it.

I have two bikes and from my perspective... One of them becomes your favorite and the other just sits.
Whenever I do ride my second bike, I enjoy it, but those rides are few and far between. 99% of the time, I'm jumping on the primary.

S100 Total Cycle Cleaner works great for cleaning.
S100 Engine Brightener will give the wrinkle-black finish a "dressed" and slightly glossy appearance if that's what you want.
And finally, a metal polish for the fin edges. This is the most tedious part of the job. You have to use the metal polish very sparingly to prevent staining of the black wrinkle finish. I usually do this step with a pair of thin cotton gloves. Put the polish on the glove(s) and rub it in like you were using hand lotion on your hands. You want just enough polish spread evenly across the glove to get the job done... No globs or excess polish as such will surely migrate to and stain the wrinkle black finish on the adjacent portion of the fins. Then just reach in and polish the fin edges to your content. Use the same principle with a cloth (t-shirt) wrapped around a paint stir stick to reach the areas you can't get to with your hand and glove.

Some ceramic wheel coatings will go up to 1200 degrees. Don’t know if you can apply to raw aluminum.
No sealant or wax is going to work. Finish care can do 250’ish but your motors getting hotter than that.

Yeah I’d try a coating but I’d do a test spot 1st and leave for a couple weeks. Make sure heat doesn’t discolor or do something funky.
Nice thing about keeping your old is it can be your test mule.
