Question on detailing finishing product
It's been a long time since i have done a full detail. I am looking for recommendations on a product to use other than a ceramic coating. Car is 2022 Volvo XC60 paint is ok but had a lot of etching from bird poop and rain as it sits outside. Also need to paint correct since wife goes to car wash once a week so have a soon of everything on the paint. Here are my steps below:
Soak
Wash
Clay
Meguiar's Compound 105
Meguiar's Polish 205
Ipa Wipe down
After IPA wipe down, do I need to put on some detailing spray wax or something since i already used the Meguiar's Polish 205 ?? If so then what you recommend?

Re: Question on detailing finishing product
Collinite 476 has been my favorite finishing product for a year or so now. I volunteer at the USS Cod and bird bombs by the gulls are frequent. CQuartz didn't stand up to the bombings and I had etching on the roof of my GTI and GLI. But the 476 hasn't failed me yet. Besides, I am partial to wax gloss over coating shine. The 476 has more luster than the CQuartz UK did.

Re: Question on detailing finishing product
Skip the IPA wipe as it is totally unnecessary. Then apply some form of protection as the 205 will not provide any protection. Meguiar's Ultimate Wax would be a good choice. Everything else with your process looks ok.

Agree on the IPA and 205 comments.
If you are looking for a non-coating that acts a lot like one, Wolfgang's SiO2 Paint sealant is a great option. Easy to apply, looks good, and very durable. When I don't apply a coating, it's my go-to sealant.

An excellent suggestion. You might also want to consider Jescar Ultra Lock Plus. I've used the Wolfgang Deep Gloss SIO2 version and Ultra Lock Plus. Both were super easy to use, glossy, slick and durable. I believe you'd be happy with either one.

Re: Question on detailing finishing product
I'll put 476S up against the WG Si02 or Jescar for bird bomb protection any day of the week.
It is no coincidence that man's best friend cannot talk.

Re: Question on detailing finishing product
thanks for the feedback. So i have been doing some research.. Can someone tell me would in my case a graphene or ceramic coat be best that will hold better in daily driver and outdoors than a sealant?
I was looking at the following:
CARPRO | Cquartz UK 3.0 Edition
Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Coating
Meguiars Ceramic Wax
Adam’s Graphene
303 Graphene
Turtle Wax Seal N Shine
Jescar Ultra Lock +

Car pro 3.0 is only true coatings. Rest are just sealants (some good) with fancy names if I was not going coating I would try the wolfgang sio2 sealant. Heard nothing but good things.
Out of your list minus the Cquartz Adam’s spray graphene advanced is probably strongest

I've never had bird droppings eat through any LSP, sealant or coating, as long as I cleaned it up within a day-ish of being deposited. If you're using a quality product it should provide a pretty good defense until you can remove the material left behind from an aerial bombardment.

Right.
You only need a panel wipe if the wax, sealant, or coating says to do one.
