    Maintaining black between cruise nights

Have a 1978 Trans Am. Black car, been repainted base/clear. I got the paint looking amazing after doing the whole car with M100 and my G9 polisher. Like a dummy, I decided to make a light pass with my Griots car duster before taking it out for a ride last weekend. Sure enough, it left slight hazy scratches in the finish.

Car doesnt see rain typically. Usually its going to a local cruise night and parked back in the garage. I have well water at home, and it is horrendous to wash the car with. SO, my question is, how do you guys "maintain" the paint in a situation like this? Say after going for a cruise, what do you do about the light dust that accumulates on the paint?

Ignore the dust. You can use a rinseless wash but chances are you will get micromarring on black.

I use a California Car Duster (carefully), followed by a quick detailer (or waterless wash), on my black truck and two black motorcycles... No problems here.

Rinseless wash. Or waterless. Want to be real careful try Ammo NYC Frothe.

If you wash car dry with Koch chemie FSE as a drying aid.

Why recommend rinseless wash if he said his water is horrendous to wash the car with?

I think he’d be better off using a dedicated waterless wash like Meguiars Wash & Wax Anywhere w/some new quality microfiber towels.

Because you can buy and should use distilled water.

ONR and others soften the water. Some will even recommend adding an once to your normal bucket wash to soften. Also I can wash my entire car with 1-2 gallons of distilled if needed.
