    DRIVE THROUGH CAR WASH ?

Is there a product that can be sprayed on the car, or applied in some way, that will make a drive through car wash more gentle on the finish?

Are you talking about the automated washes with the brushes? Sadly, nothing this side of PPF will help there and even then the PPF will take a beating.

For a touchless car wash any good sealant will help protect against the harsh soaps they use.

i dont think that they use brushes anymore, they use strips of special cloth or vert soft plastic, that doesent scratch like it useto. if you see brushes that car wash is very very old

We have a raft of new tunnel washes that just opened up in the last year and just watching those huge wheels with the bristles spinning at high speed while slaping the sides of the cars just makes me cringe. I don't see how they can't be adding scratches to the paint.

I can mar the paint on our Toyota with the swipe of my finger. That car or our others with the soft Japanese paint wouldn't stand a chance against one of those machines.

There are a number of the touchless car washes here, but the rainbow of soap they foam the car with you know are strong, you can smell the soap instantly in the car. Not a bad smell, just smells really really clean. But you alao have the option of no soap going through, just a water spray.

I’ve been using a touchless local wash for about eight years, and never had a scratch any surface. I usually just get the rinse and then wipe it down with Ech20 when I get home, easy Peezy , car still looks brand new.

There are really only 2 rules that I tell my wife about our cars. One, if the Red Check Oil light comes on you pull over immediately. Two, you never run our cars through an automated car wash.

They absolutely are adding scratches. I can’t count how many calls I’ve gotten recently from people with new cars going through an automated wash, with those magical foam fingers of misery, wanting paint correction.

Touchless your good to go. I pretreat with BiltHamber AutoFoam to help break down dirt if really dirty.

    Waterless wash after.
