Best spray product for keeping windshield clear in the rain?
With all the recent rain we have had here in Socal, I have a question about the best spray product to keep my windshield clear in the rain. I understand that a dedicated glass coating such as Gyeon View would be best, but I would like to know if any of the spray products I already have on hand can serve the same purpose, albeit they won't be as durable.
Today, I tried Griot's Garage Ceramic Glass Cleaner. Although the water did form tight beads, the water did not roll off the windshield. In the past, I have tried Topper by Xtreme Solutions on the glass and this seemed to work a bit better than the Griot's. With Topper, above 40 mph, the water rolled off the window.
I also have some Technicians Choice Ceramic Detail Spray and Wolfgang Ceramic Detail Spray. I also have Griots's Garage Ceramic 3-in-1 Wax. If I want to go old school, I think I still have some Meguiars D156 Synthetic Spray Wax.
Or would a bottle of Rain-X be better than any of these?
Any suggestions or recommendations?
Thanks,
Joe

Pinnacle Crystal Clear Glass Cleaner with Water Repellent
I can vouch for this. Very good product and can't be any easier to apply.

If your going to buy rain X I would Go Gyeon quick view or AngelWax H2gO. Both seem to rate very well.
Most traditional toppers/sealant aren’t going to work great on glass.
Adam’s Graphene spray worked well for about a month.

Duragloss RAIN REPEL is another really good choice. I see AG and AT must have dropped it? Still available.
Duragloss RR (Rain Repel) '-' Duragloss

As far as a spray on cleaner is concerned, I really like Invisible Glass with Rain Repellent. It lasts a couple of months and Invisible Glass is one of my favorite glass cleaners. I have tried the Griots Ceramic Glass Cleaner and while I am a big fan of Griots products, I did not like it. It left terrible streaks on the windshield and it does not wipe off cleanly or evenly. I use it strictly on the back window of the SUV.
The RainX all in one cleaner is not a bad product but the Invisible Glass lasts longer.
I believe in treating everybody with respect, and clean cars. That’s what I believe in.

I have pretty good luck with Meguiars D156. I like the to use it on glass , it polishes really well for me, and I don't get any streaking. Repels water pretty good for a couple months.

Don't bother grabbing Ethos cleaner/si02 repellant. If you have nothing on your glass and never tried a product before you will like it. But if you have tried RainX even before, you won't be too impressed.

I say divvy up your windshield and apply everything you have. Then evaluate if you already have something that works for you.

I've used Griots window sealant and rainx. Best I accidentally discovered is Mothers CMX...
Clean windshield thoroughly and then do an IPA wipesown. Clean your wiperblades thoroughly too (I use N914). I apply CMX and wipe off. I'll maybe do 2 layers to ensure even coverage. It masts me well over 6 months if not a year in winter. Water Flys off above 30 so no need for wipers.
