Washing a newly Coated Vehicle- Carpro Lite
Hi I applied last coat (tops) on Thursday morning.
No Sio2 sealant was applied due to forecast saying no rain.
It sat outside on Saturday afternoon, unfortunately rained but that = more than 48 hours so should be ok.
The time span that I see before washing a vehicle that has been coated is 7 days.
Does this apply to Lite as well, a lite coating?
Reason I ask is the vehicle is going on a motorway and the forecast is not good + road works on the way.
Thanks

You should be fine but i'd still hold off on it's first wash for a few more days.

So if I take it out after 6 days but hold washing for further 2 days should be ok?

Yes. If you hit any rain take a look at beading. After it's first wash look at the beading again. It should bead up nicely after its clean.

I'm sure that you are aware, but ceramic coatings won't help with rock chips (helps with bugs). You might want to look into paint protection film if you take the motorway often.

Thanks yes I am aware, use to think that though.
Its basically a sacrificial layer for UV, dust, dirt, pollen etc but not chips or scratches.

YouTube Detailers like to make that claim. I've noticed that they've backed away from that message as the years progress.
Ppf has its own drawbacks. Besides being expensive on the front end you have to remove and replace after - number of years. If it's not installed properly you get to look at that the whole time. Also a chance of the paint being lifted upon removal and the installer will blame you.
Best way to avoid chips is to not let anyone get in front of you.
Happy motoring mate

True.
Another thing is the rock chips from people overtaking or on the other side trucks flicking.
