    Actually, in my opinion you are fighting a losing battle... Sure, you can wash the salt from the exterior surfaces and the car will look presentable, but the real damage is occurring in all of the seams and crevices regardless of your washing technique and schedule.

    The only real answer is to park the "nice" car during the winter months and drive a "beater" in its place.

    The 30 years I was driving in Ohio I had it made....I only went through 2 cars and they were both beaters..

    Sigh. With no snow in sight, but winter is around the corner.

    I got reminded of it today, as even though the roads are more leaf litter and even after a rain yesterday (which in theory is slightly cleaner road surface).
    Gave the car a wash this afternoon and I was smelling salty water as I washed the car

    No doubt. I do not use DIY bays or auto car washes in the winter months. I just wait till we get breaks in the weather and temps and do home washes as needed. Sadly, it is pointless to try to maintain it in the winter months. I load up with as much LSP before winter hits.

    IT IS THAT TIME OF THE YEAR. I miss the hobby in the winter months.
