How much to charge for Ceramic Coating
Hello and hope everybody doing great,
Just need a little advice from people who's been doing/offering ceramic coatings in their detail shops or mobile. I'm just trying to figure out how much I should charge for ceramic coatings in my area. I'm not a full-time detailer and I don't have a shop, I have a great job and just trying to grow this detailing business out of my passion so one day I could allow people who like to do the same thing. Anyways, my range for ceramic coating just the paint is from $1200- $2500 (6-year, 8-year, and 10-year coating). I do offer glass, interior, and wheel face coating and that would be extra.
I'm certified with System X and stand behind their quality. My business mentor is the person who ceramic coated high-end cars in my area, so as far as the quality of ceramic coating, I'm confident about that. The area that I live is a high-income area so charging high should not be a problem, but I don't know how high should I go. My goal is not to make the money for myself, but eventually, after getting enough consistent customers, I'd like to hire a couple of team-memebrs with great pay higher than anywhere else so they actually provide exceptional service for my clients.
I'm open to any advice related to pricing. Thank you.

No I'm not from future. Look for System X Max and Diamond SS, it's not from future, it's present!

Do you have any pictures of cars that are 10 years old? That would be very helpful in selling a coating that lasts 10 years. And charge what your mentor gets.

I mean I'm not asking any of my clients to send me a picture of their cars in 10 years, but let me explain this way. For any coatings that I sell, I'd hand out all the requirements for them to follow to keep their coatings in the best condition ( such as wash bi- weekly, hand- wash, ph soap, etc).
Now, the coating that I use, for you have a 6-year, 8-year, or 10-year, every year you have to get a top coat so that pretty much keeps the coating in a great condition.
I guess it depends on the client what coating they want, if they pick the 10 years, then that's the best one, if they pick 8 years, the second best one, and the last 6 years.

I understand and respect that! I have them on my personal cars and pretty much use them as a model for my clients. One of my cars I coated it 3 years ago and the paint looks as good as day one. Do I take care of my car? absolutely. Do I follow the requirements to keep the coating in a great condition? absolutely.
I don't think I'd keep my car for the next 10 years but I'm pretty sure whoever takes over my car next, as long as they do the same thing, the coating will last.
