cleaning pads after using Sonax EX 04-06
Hello,
Once i have am done using, same night i soak the pads or clean them with dawn soap most of the times and they come out as new. Sometimes i clean next day after soaking in water/soap. I have done this with Chemical guys/Turtle wax compounds. I did the same thing with Sonax and it's kind turned into like a facial cream, a layer on top and all of it embedded into the pads..spent about 60 min trying to clean them. Used to take me 20 mins top to clean 5-6 pads.
How do you clean pads after using Sonax?

I found the same with the Sonax, its harder to clean up then some other things I've tried.
I'll use a pad brush or air gun to get out extra material, then I used Chemical Guys microfiber/pad cleaner in a spray bottle and soak the face down when I'm done using a pad, let it soak in a bucket filled with warm water+splash of Dawn+some CG cleaner too, and let it sit for a day or two...
Then I'll wash them under warm water by hand and knead and squish it all out then, usually takes 2-5min pad, so not to bad then. I have a cool fan setup on its side to dry them in a few hours...

If you wanted to mechanize your cleaning process without breaking the bank, I made a cheap DIY pad cleaning station because I was having trouble getting Blackfire One Step out of my pads. Worked awesome. (I used Rags to Riches as a detergent, but I'm sure any pad cleaner would work).
I posted it here:
What did you do today, in regards to detailing?
Blitzed through a stack of like 15-18 pads in less time than it felt like it would take to do a few by hand.

To help them dry quicker I spin them on high speed on my rotary- slings everything out- guess you could do the same on a RO

I haven’t used the Sonax but Snappy clean get’s all my pads clean. Over night soak and a good rinse and done.
I currently use Mckee’s version I bought I bought when AG discontinued them.
This from BlackFire Probably same product.
BLACKFIRE Advanced Pad Cleaner & Restorer
Also use this to soak Coating towels.
