Front of the car from rocks getting thrown from the vehicles in front of you. Next time I get a new car, I’m going to get the entire front wrapped to protect it. Barring that I’d say it is door dings from other drivers in the parking lot. Or if you had kids like mine, the kids putting scratches.

    Generally considered 'high impact' areas:

Regardless of the ride...black, carbon fiber, painted black, powdercoated black, or just plain black. My theory is that black surfaces attract rocks or any sharp objects

My worst impact areas are front of the vehicle from the hood line down. That's where all the bugs and debris from other cars seems to all hit. Depending on the vehicle the first 4~6 inches of the hood might take a beating too.

The next worst area would probably be the side mirrors and that is more from bug impacts and not really stones/debris, but some bugs will actually damage the paint at speed.

I think a lot of it depends on the design and size of the vehicle. Tires and the offset of the wheels will be big factor too. If you're running a wheel/tire set up that's flush or pokes out past the fender, the risk of slinging debris across the paint will increase.

The front end and hood for sure. PPF is the way to go!

I see an 8-10” area behind each wheel well where the paint just looks ‘peppered’ under LED lighting - even if it isn’t noticeable while standing next to the car and looking down at an angle at those lower areas. I have also notice that most car bodies do tend to taper ‘in’ below the centerline - which simultaneously makes it easier for road gravel to hit those areas and harder to detect from a standing position. I would definitely PPF behind all 4 wheel wells.
